The Yellowstone Radio Club holds regularly scheduled weekly nets that are open to all licensed amateur radio operators. Out of area visitors are welcome and encouraged to check in. Nets are generally formal in nature meaning a net control operator organizes all participants in an orderly fashion to ensure everyone is heard.
Uncle Don’s Early Morning Net 0800 hrs
This net is held on weekdays at 08:00 local time on the Common Repeaters. Early and In and Out check-ins are accepted before the net begins.
Contact Paul Roberts, KJ7YTW, if you would like to participate as Net Control or assist Net Control by relaying the current QST’s (announcements).
Topics include health and welfare, weather reports and observations, road conditions, or any other topic of interest to the amateur radio community.
Vern’s Saturday Morning Net 1000 hrs
This net is held on Saturday mornings at 10:00 local time on the Common Repeaters. This net begins before 1000 hrs with a visit to Laurel Health and Rehab allowing residents an opportunity participate in the net and sometimes share an interesting bit of history.
2 Meter Net Tuesday’s 1900 hrs
This net is held on Tuesday evenings at 19:00 local time on the Common Repeaters.
Tech Net Wednesday’s 1900 hrs
This net is held on Wednesday evenings at 19:00 local time on the
147.000 repeater (+ offset, 91.5Hz tone). Topics are technical in nature and participants are encouraged to ask questions. Participants from various technical backgrounds are on air to help answer questions. The solar report is discussed as it affects radio propagation. This net is a good way to stay up-to-date on radio related technology.
YL Net Wednesday’s 1830 hrs
This net is held on Wednesday evenings at 18:30 local time on the Common Repeaters. Open to all licensed amateur radio operators and focused on encouraging YL’s (young ladies) to be more active on the airwaves.
